Days of Our Lives Casts General Hospital Alum Sofia Mattsson as Chloe Lane
General Hospital alum Sofia Mattsson has been revealed as the new Chloe Lane on Days of Our Lives, with her debut expected in early 2027.

Sofia Mattsson has officially been revealed as the new Chloe Lane on Days of Our Lives, ending months of speculation regarding her mystery role in Salem. The casting update was confirmed through a newly released extended promotional video that showcases major upcoming drama in the long-running soap opera.
The Big Reveal in Salem
Days of Our Lives initially confirmed the hiring of Sofia Mattsson, recognized for her previous role as Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital, back in March 2026. However, the exact character she would be portraying remained heavily guarded until the recent promotional drop. Throughout the intervening months, rumors circulated online, and many dedicated viewers correctly deduced that she would step into the shoes of Chloe Lane.
The promotional footage gives fans their very first glimpse of Sofia Mattsson in character. Roughly one minute into the extended video, she is seen passionately locking lips with Eric Martsolf, whose character Brady Black has shared a decades-long on-and-off romantic history with Chloe. During the dramatic sequence, she delivers the line, “I've missed you so much,” cementing her arrival in the core romantic storylines of the canvas.
Behind the Scenes and Past Comments
Although the character identity is now public, Sofia Mattsson previously spoke about the project with guarded enthusiasm. Back in April 2026, she told People that her new role was “very complex and interesting,” while also promising plenty of exciting storylines and dramatic twists ahead, even though she avoided disclosing specific details about her Salem alter ego at the time.
Her addition to the cast follows a significant tenure elsewhere in daytime television. Sofia Mattsson exited General Hospital in 2025 after a seven-year run playing the beleaguered heroine Sasha. Following her departure, her transition to Days of Our Lives generated substantial industry chatter before the official confirmation of her role.
Recasting Chloe Lane
The casting update also sheds light on the logistical changes behind the iconic character. In August 2026, Nadia Bjorlin confirmed publicly that she had been invited to return to Days of Our Lives to reprise her signature role as Chloe. However, she explained to Michael Fairman that she ultimately declined the offer because she no longer lives in Los Angeles, making the commute impractical. As a result, the door opened for Sofia Mattsson to take over the part.
Fans will have to wait a little longer to see the new Chloe Lane in action. Sofia Mattsson is not expected to make her official Days of Our Lives television debut until early 2027, as the newly released promotional materials continue to build anticipation for upcoming storylines, including the arrival of Dominic Marino as the apparent son of Marlena Evans and Stefano DiMera.
