During his interview with host Jimmy Fallon, Sylvester discussed his feelings regarding Sophia's upcoming marriage. Sophia, who is 30 years old, announced her engagement to Michael Sheehan in August through social media photographs that captured the proposal amid candles and white roses. Reflecting on the engagement, the actor confessed that letting go is not easy. It is hard for him to accept that it is time for her to have a life of her own, but he acknowledged that she found a great man and a great fiancé in Michael.

Jimmy noted that dating the daughter of a legendary Hollywood action star might be a daunting prospect for any suitor. Sylvester agreed that the situation can be tough for newcomers, though he quickly reassured the host that Michael made a strong, positive impression. Describing his future son-in-law, the actor noted that he is good-looking and has everything going for him. Michael's warm welcome into the family prompted Sylvester to recall a very different encounter from the past involving another father who disapproved of his daughter's partner. Without naming the individuals involved, the actor explained that a famous acquaintance had asked him to intervene with a troublesome visitor. To assist with the request, Sylvester went home and suited up in full costume. He put on his Rambo outfit complete with a headband, fake blood, a knife, and an ammunition belt to create a striking visual.

Dressed as the formidable action hero, Sylvester answered the door to the unsuspecting boyfriend. He described the young man as a comedian type wearing his hat sideways, before recreating his intense greeting for the studio audience. In character, he delivered a stern warning to the visitor, telling him that touching the young woman would be like touching him. According to the actor, the intimidating stunt achieved its desired effect, leaving the boyfriend unaware that the entire scenario was a prank.

The late-summer engagement has been a source of much joy for the Stallone household. When Sophia shared her proposal news on August 28, she accompanied the post with a heartfelt caption declaring her intention to spend forever with her best friend. Sylvester also celebrated the development publicly at the time, sharing his excitement on social media by stating that the family was ecstatic about the news.
