Tyra Banks Reveals Why She Regrets Her Role in Halloween: Resurrection
Nearly 25 years after its release, Tyra Banks looks back at her time in Halloween: Resurrection with zero fondness and a major grievance.

Tyra Banks has opened up about her past acting choices, revealing that she looks back on her role in Halloween: Resurrection with zero fondness. When asked if she remembers making the 2002 slasher film with any warm feelings, the 52-year-old star gave a firm negative response, emphasizing that she does not cherish the experience even a tiny bit.
An Agent's Pitch and Career Ambitions
Banks explained that she originally agreed to take on the project after an agent suggested the part to her. At the time, the model was actively trying to break into the film and television industry and wanted to make strategic choices to build her resume. Her agent compared the potential career trajectory to that of Halloween H20 star Josh Hartnett, convincing her that taking on the horror franchise would help her bridge the gap from modeling to acting.
Missing Death Scene and Unfulfilled Promises
In the 2002 movie, Banks portrayed a producer whose job was to document a group of teenagers inside the notorious childhood home of killer Michael Myers. Her character ultimately met a grisly end at the hands of the killer, but the actual sequence of her demise never made it into the final cut of the film. Instead, audiences only saw a brief shot of her dead body lying on screen. Reflecting on the outcome, Banks quipped that she was essentially promised the career of an established leading man and an iconic death scene, but received neither.
Building a Massive Television Legacy
Despite the disappointment of the horror sequel, Banks quickly pivoted and established a massive entertainment empire elsewhere. She went on to create and host America’s Next Top Model starting in 2003, running the hit reality competition until its final season in 2018. Her career further expanded with The Tyra Banks Show, a daytime talk show that earned her two Daytime Emmy Awards, as well as a stint hosting Dancing With the Stars from 2020 to 2022.
Life Abroad and Current Ventures
In recent years, Banks has shifted her focus away from traditional Hollywood hosting roles toward international business and personal life. She now resides in Australia with her longtime partner, Louis Bélanger-Martin. Explaining her move, she noted that her ice cream company, SMiZE and Dream, initially brought her to the country to utilize a large production facility for recipes, leading her to eventually settle down abroad.
While the horror film failed to launch the cinematic acting career her agent promised, Banks built an enduring legacy across reality television and daytime broadcasting before finding a new chapter of life and business overseas.
