Ree Drummond's Son Jamar Goff Faced Prior Protective Orders

Jamar Goff, the son of Food Network star Ree Drummond, was previously the subject of protective orders involving two different women prior to his recent arrest in Alabama, according to exclusive court documents. The legal filings detail accusations of physical violence and threats spanning multiple years, coming to light shortly after Goff was taken into custody in Birmingham.

Domestic Violence Allegations and Protective Orders

According to documents filed in an Alabama court, a woman who stated she was in a dating relationship with Goff filed a petition for a protective order on May 23, 2025. The petitioner alleged that Goff, who she claimed was living at her apartment, exhibited multiple signs of aggression. Among the claims, she alleged that he grabbed her by the throat, pushed her onto a couch, and held her until she could not breathe. She also stated in the court paperwork that he threw her dog into a wall and flipped a couch while she and the animal were on it.

The same petitioner alleged that Goff grabbed her by the arms, leaving bruises, and threatened to lock her inside the residence. A judge granted a protective order on May 28, 2025, which forbade Goff from coming within 500 feet of the woman, her workplace, or her school, and ordered him not to harass or threaten her. That order reportedly expired in late May 2026.

Prior Restraining Order in Oklahoma

Court records indicate that this was not the only instance in which Goff was ordered to stay away from a former romantic partner. A separate emergency protective order was issued against him in Oklahoma in August 2022 after a different woman reported receiving violent calls and messages following their breakup. The woman claimed in court filings that Goff stated he would come to her house and expressed concerns about what he might do if he saw her on campus.

An emergency order was issued on August 1, 2022, requiring Goff to stay at least 100 yards away from the individual. A final protective order was signed two weeks later, instructing him to have no contact with the alleged victim and to surrender any firearms or weapons. That order remained in effect until August 1, 2024.

Recent Arrest in Birmingham

The surfacing of these past court records follows Goff’s recent arrest on September 15 in Birmingham, Alabama. Police records show that law enforcement officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious person on the University of Alabama at Birmingham campus, where they reportedly found Goff sleeping near a fountain without a shirt. When officers woke him up, he allegedly told them he was waiting to buy methamphetamine.

According to the criminal complaint, Goff ran off when officers confronted him about an alleged warrant. He was later cornered outside a local hospital, where authorities claim he struck an officer with an open-handed palm strike. Goff was booked on four charges, including unlawful possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault on a police officer, drug paraphernalia possession, and attempting to elude an officer, with bail set at $37,000.

Ree Drummond and her husband, Ladd Drummond, became foster parents to Goff in 2018 when he was a teenager. Representatives for Ree Drummond and legal counsel for Goff have been approached for comment regarding the newly surfaced court documents and recent charges.
