Humor, Empathy and Avoiding Absolute Words
When asked about the longevity of their relationship, Douglas pointed to several core rules that have guided their partnership. He emphasized that maintaining a good sense of humor is essential, alongside practicing open-mindedness and empathy when disagreements arise.
The Oscar winner shared specific advice on communication during arguments, advising against absolute statements. According to Douglas, couples should avoid using the words "never" or "always" when anger flares up between each other.
