Bre Tiesi recently opened up about her relationship with her ex-husband, Johnny Manziel, and revealed that she turned to him for guidance before competing on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. The reality star discussed the surprising interaction during an appearance on The Viall Files podcast, sharing rare details about where things currently stand between the former couple.

Seeking Advice From Past Competitors

Before heading into the grueling competition series, Tiesi sought advice from people who had already experienced the show firsthand. In addition to speaking with former cast member Dwight Howard, she reached out to Manziel, who had previously tackled the course. According to Tiesi, the two former athletes offered starkly different perspectives on whether she should take on the challenge.

While Howard expressed hesitation and advised her to reconsider, Manziel enthusiastically encouraged her to sign up. Tiesi recalled that Manziel told her she would likely get angry at some point during the course, but urged her to do it anyway. Tiesi ultimately competed on season 5 of the show, though she chose to voluntarily leave the course midway through.

Rebuilding a Friendship After Years Apart

Tiesi and Manziel were married from 2018 until their divorce was finalized in 2021. Following their split, the pair experienced a lengthy period of estrangement. Tiesi shared that they did not speak to each other for years after their marriage ended. However, their dynamic has since shifted for the better following an adult conversation and an apology.

The Selling Sunset star emphasized that she values accountability, maturity, and the ability to talk things out. After accepting an apology from Manziel, she felt comfortable moving forward amicably. While they do not hang out frequently or speak on a daily basis, Tiesi confirmed that they are currently on good terms and remain cool with one another.

Reflecting on Past Toxicity and Marriage

Looking back at her marriage, Tiesi offered candid reflections on why their relationship ultimately dissolved. She admitted that the union was toxic and unhealthy, prompting a significant amount of self-reflection. Through the experience, she learned valuable lessons about her own personal preferences regarding romance and commitment.

Tiesi stated that the marriage taught her she simply did not want to be married or enter that level of serious relationship. She explained that she thrives better on her own and struggled with the responsibilities and expectations tied to matrimony. Ultimately, she realized that the partnership did not bring her happiness, leading her to understand more about her own independence.

Today, Tiesi continues her career in reality television and shares her son, Legendary, with partner Nick Cannon, with whom she maintains a non-monogamous relationship. Her recent podcast appearance offered fans a rare glimpse into her past marriage and how she and Manziel have successfully moved forward as civil acquaintances.
